Special Treatments

All swimming pools, including above ground pools, will require the water to be regularly monitored and treated using pool chemicals to maintain water quality. Sunspot Special Treatments are problem-solving pool chemicals which can be used as required. These pool chemicals include water clarifiers, tile cleaners, filter cleaners and stain or scale inhibitors.

Special treatments are often required for best practices or solutions to problems.

CLARIFIERS
To add general sparkle to your water, consider periodic use of 'SPARKLE TABS' in the skimmer basket or 'SUPER WATER CLARIFIER' dosed directly into the pool water. For a full floc after a problem e.g. clear dead algae 'GRANULAR FLOC' can be used whilst the pool system is turned off, and then vacuumed to waste.

CLEANERS
Cleaning can save on chemical usage, and also keep your pool looking great. 'TILE & LINER CLEANERS' are excellent grease removers, whilst 'WATER LINE CLEANING PASTE' is mildly abrasive for more ingrained soiling but don't use this on plastic liners. Yearly filter cleaning is recommended using 'FILTER CLEANER', especially if your sand has not recently been changed. If you ever have unwanted oil, grease or diesel / fuel contaminations (it does sometimes happen!) then 'SWIMZYME' is an enzyme that digests and neutralises such contamination.

SCALE/STAINING
At some stage, especially in hard water areas, scale control in pools is necessary, as is the removal of stains like leaf mould, iron or copper. Regular use of 'STAIN AND SCALE INHIBITOR' and/or 'CONQUEST' as preventatives is professional and recent deposits of staining or scale can be removed as a cure treatment with either product.

OTHER TREATMENTS
If you have minor leaky pipework or water loss it is always worth trying 'LEAK SEALER', and over chlorination or bromination will be lowered or eliminated with 'CHLORINE REDUCER'.
